The Window Seat

We have been slowly working on our home office (study) and I have been working on the Window Seat. Well over the holidays I finally finished it.

If you look closely you'll see that there are several parts to the window seat. Each of these parts was built separately and in this order:

  1. Base (2X4s)
  2. 2 Boxes (3/4" plywood with two separators)
  3. Inner molding (helps keep the separators secure)
  4. Outer molding (makes things look linked together)

Here is a closer look at each of the two boxes that make up the window seat:

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience creating this window seat. I am extremely glad to be done with it too. Of course it is not yet completed as it needs to be painted and also decorated with cushions and other things. Of course that's going to be done by Cheryl as my artistic expression isn't very good.

I have a lot of interior design ideas most of which Trina won't let me act upon so I would be happy to help you instead. I think you should paint the window seat Sedona Red and the cushions should of course be Chase Field seat cushions.
